Why roads fail early

A road is only as good as the layers you cannot see

Most cracked, rutted and sunken roads fail from below. Weak subgrade, thin base course or poor compaction lets the surface deform under traffic and heat.

Saudi summers push asphalt surface temperatures very high, which makes rutting and bleeding more likely when the mix or the base is not right.

We build every layer to the design section, compact it properly and check it before the next layer goes down.

Subgrade

Existing soil cut, filled, graded and compacted to form a stable platform.

Checked for level and compaction
Subbase & base

Granular and crushed aggregate layers that carry and spread the load.

Structural asphalt layer that adds strength and stiffness.

Laid hot and rolled to density

Surface asphalt layer that resists traffic, heat and water.

How it works

Our road construction process

  1. Survey & design review

Site levels, drawings, traffic loads and drainage needs reviewed.

  2. Earthworks & subgrade

Clearing, cut and fill, grading and compaction.

  3. Base layers

Subbase and base course placed, levelled and compacted.

  4. Asphalt paving

Prime coat, binder and wearing courses laid and rolled.

  5. Kerbs, marking & handover

Kerbs, interlock, line marking and final inspection.

Pricing

How much does road construction and asphalt cost?

Road work is usually priced per square metre for paving, and per cubic metre for earthworks and base layers. We measure on site and send an itemized BOQ.

  • Area and layer thicknessSquare metres paved and the thickness of each layer.
  • Existing groundSoft or uneven ground needs more earthworks and fill.
  • Traffic and loadsHeavy vehicles need thicker base and asphalt layers.
  • Drainage and kerbsChannels, kerbs, manholes and interlock add to scope.
  • Access and timingNight work or live sites need extra planning.

Site visits are free. Every quote lists layers, thicknesses and quantities in writing.

FAQ

Road construction and asphalt questions

How long does an asphalt road last?

A well-built asphalt road with a proper base can last many years with basic maintenance. Life depends on traffic, drainage, layer thickness and the quality of compaction.

Can you pave over an existing road?

Often yes. If the base is sound, an asphalt overlay can restore the surface. If the base has failed, it needs repair or rebuilding first, and we tell you which after inspection.

What is the difference between binder and wearing course?

The binder course is the structural asphalt layer. The wearing course is the finer top layer that takes traffic and weather and gives the smooth finish.

Do you build parking areas and compound roads?

Yes. We build car parks, compound roads, loading yards and access roads for residential, commercial and industrial sites.

Do you install kerbs and interlock paving?

Yes. Kerbs, channels, footpaths and interlock paving are part of our external works scope.

Can you repair potholes and cracks?

Yes. We carry out patching, crack repair, milling and overlay for worn roads and car parks.

When is the best time to pave?

Paving is planned around temperature, usually early in the day in summer, so the asphalt can be laid and compacted properly.
