Why preparation matters

A coating is only as strong as the surface beneath it

Most early coating failures start before the first coat. Rust, mill scale, grease, salts and old paint stop new coatings from bonding, and in Saudi heat and coastal humidity that failure shows up fast as blistering, peeling and under-film rust.

Abrasive blasting removes these contaminants and cuts a consistent anchor profile into the surface, so primer and paint grip mechanically instead of sitting on top.

We blast to the cleanliness grade your coating specification calls for, and we check the result before any primer goes on.

Sa 1 · Brush-off

Loose rust, loose paint and mill scale removed. For light maintenance work.

Equivalent: SSPC-SP 7
Sa 2 · Thorough

Most rust, scale and paint removed. Firmly adhered residue may remain.

Equivalent: SSPC-SP 6
Sa 2½ · Near-white

Only slight stains remain. The usual grade for industrial and protective coatings.

Equivalent: SSPC-SP 10
Sa 3 · White metal

Uniform bare-metal finish. For immersion service and high-performance linings.

Equivalent: SSPC-SP 5
What we blast

Sandblasting solutions for demanding assets

From fabrication yards to running industrial facilities, we scale equipment and crew to the size, condition and location of your project.

Structural steel & fabrications

Beams, frames, columns and fabricated steel blasted free of corrosion, mill scale and failed coatings before the protective system.

Tanks, pipes & vessels

Internal and external blasting of storage tanks, pipelines and process equipment ahead of lining or protective coating.

Heavy machinery & equipment

Hardened paint, concrete residue, grease and buildup removed from cranes, trucks, loaders and mechanical parts.

Concrete floor preparation

Warehouse, workshop and garage floors cleaned and profiled for epoxy, waterproofing or resurfacing.

Buildings & boundary walls

Controlled removal of graffiti, stains, dirt and old coatings from stone, brick, facades and compound walls.

Steel gates, railings & frames

Rusted gates, fences, stairs and railings stripped to sound metal and primed before repainting.

Paint & coating removal

Multi-layer paint, epoxy and failed coatings stripped without harsh chemical strippers.

Blast & prime packages

Blasting followed immediately by primer from our painting team, so exposed steel never sits unprotected.

Abrasive media

Blasting media we use, and where

We do not use ordinary silica sand. We choose the abrasive by substrate, required profile and site conditions, and confirm it in your written scope.

How it works

Our sandblasting process

  1. Site assessment

We inspect the surface, coating system, access and safety needs, then agree the blast grade and scope.

  2. Contain the area

Tarps, barriers and dust control protect people, equipment and nearby operations.

  3. Select media & pressure

Abrasive, nozzle and pressure set for the substrate so we clean fully without damaging it.

  4. Blast to grade

Rust, scale and coatings removed to the specified cleanliness and profile.

  5. Inspect, clean & prime

Dust removed, surface checked, and primer applied promptly to stop flash rust.

Pricing

How much does sandblasting cost in Saudi Arabia?

Sandblasting is usually priced per square metre of surface, or per item for machinery and equipment. We measure on site and give you an itemized written quote.

  • Surface area and typeSteel, concrete, masonry or machinery, measured in m² or per item.
  • Current conditionHeavy rust, mill scale or thick old coatings take longer to remove.
  • Required blast gradeSa 3 white metal takes more time and media than Sa 2.
  • Access and containmentHeight, confined spaces and live facilities need extra setup.
  • Blast only or blast & primeAdding primer or a full coating system in the same visit.

Site assessments are free. Every quote lists the media, blast grade and scope in writing.

FAQ

Sandblasting questions we hear most

Does sandblasting damage the surface?

Not when it is done by trained operators. We adjust pressure and choose suitable media for the substrate, so we clean effectively without warping thin metal or damaging masonry.

Do I need to bring items to your workshop?

No. We bring mobile blasting rigs with compressors, media and containment to construction sites, warehouses and industrial facilities.

How soon should steel be primed after blasting?

As soon as possible, ideally in the same shift. Freshly blasted steel starts to flash rust quickly, especially in humid coastal cities, so we recommend blast-and-prime in one visit.

What is Sa 2½ and do I need it?

Sa 2½ is the ISO 8501-1 near-white blast grade. Most industrial and protective coatings require it. Your coating datasheet states the grade, and we blast to that.

Do you use real sand?

No. Silica sand creates hazardous dust. We use safer, more efficient abrasives such as garnet, steel grit, glass media and walnut shell.

Can you blast concrete floors before epoxy?

Yes. We clean and profile concrete floors so epoxy and floor coatings bond properly. Our epoxy team can apply the coating afterwards.

How long does a sandblasting job take?

It depends on area, condition and blast grade. Small gates and railings can be done in a day, while large steel structures or tanks are planned over several days. We give a timeline with the quote.

Is the site assessment free?

Yes. We inspect the surface, confirm the scope and give you an itemized written quote with no obligation.
